ROV Inspections

Sprinkler water storage tanks must be properly maintained and inspected so that they are in full working order at all times.

A ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) inspection is an effective way to internally inspect a sprinkler tank without the need to drain the tank for its internal inspection, A full ROV survey, using high-spec submersible digital camera equipment and ultrasound, ensures full water supply is maintained throughout the inspection reducing costs staying fully operational.

During an inspection every part of the tank is surveyed using high-definition digital camera equipment. Photographic evidence of a tank’s overall condition, as well as any issues that require remedial action are provided in your fully detailed ‘Inspection / Condition Report’ . A link to the full inspection video is also provided as part of this report.

Richmond Fire can carry out ROV inspections as required by the 2 year TB203 inspection. According to LPC Sprinkler Rules' newly updated Technical Bulletin 203 Care and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems (Sept 2022), a fully detailed ‘Inspection/ Condition Report’ is now required as part of the two-yearly routine.
