“Overcoming the challenges of retrofitting an occupied office block”
St Peters Square is a landmark office block in Manchester city centre. In 2017 SES Engineering Services was appointed the contract to carry out a CAT A fit-out. RFE was initially contracted by SES to carry out CAT B works – to design and install a sprinkler system to 13 floors of office space and restaurant at One St Peters Square.
Subsequently, we were awarded Two St Peters Square on behalf of Crown House Technologies, which involved the design and installation of a sprinkler system to 11 floors of office space and 2 food retail units.
Work on the building presented a range of challenges, one of which was that part of the building was occupied and the fitting was required to cause the minimum disruption to building users whist being on-site.
