"Before and after"
Fenwick recently invested £40million into its flagship Northumberland Street store in Newcastle, as part of its 140th anniversary celebrations. These works involve creating two new central spaces across all five storeys of the store, along with renovation of the beauty hall and accessories area.
In July 2022 RFe were contracted by ISG Ltd to carry out the design and installation of a new automatic sprinkler system to protect the newly widened atrium and escalator areas across the five floors.
Our work consisted of the removal of exiting sprinklers and the installation of new false ceiling sprinkler protection in the new ceiling across all levels. All sprinklers heads were designed and installed in accordance with Ordinary Hazard 3. All work was carried out during normal store operating hours and whilst business carried on as usual.
Installation was completed on time and to budget in November 2022 resulting in a delighted customer. We enjoyed working on this local project and as the ‘before and after’ photo shows, the sprinklers are very discrete and are in keeping with the overall design aesthetics.
