November 2025 marked the successful completion of our project with JJL Design & Build Ltd, delivering full sprinkler works as part of the retrofit and fit out of the existing industrial warehouse for GXO / Greene King in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
Our scope included providing new fire protection fed from the existing pump house and delivering a system fully compliant with LPC Rules and BS EN 12845:2015 + A1:2019.
Project Highlights
- Freezer & Chill Store Protection – Installed ~1100 dry pendent sprinklers with insulation boots. To reduce future seal failures at ceiling penetrations, we engineered an improved solution using braided flexible hoses.
- Safe Walk-On Ceiling Access – Installed coordinated ‘step-over’ and ‘goal-post’ pipework arrangements to maintain safe escape and access routes.
- Pallet Racking Protection – Installed ~1000 K320 Quick Response ESFR sprinklers across one level of the racking.
- Ignitable Liquids Racking – Delivered 5 levels of in-rack sprinkler protection in line with LPC/BS EN 12845 requirements.
- Existing Sprinkler Tank Refurbishment – Replaced the butyl liner and immersion heater and completed general maintenance following the 10-year inspection.
- Fire Pump Recommissioning – Recommissioned three diesel fire pumps (circa 2019), replacing parts after approximately a year of site isolation.
These results were achieved through strong engineering, coordination, and collaboration.
